Taylor Swift’s concert in Brazil took a shocking turn even before the singer could come on stage. The American popstar, who has been on her Eras Tour this year, hosted her concert in Brazil over the weekend. While Swifties, the fandom name, were eagerly waiting to watch their favourite singer perform, things did not go as planned. To begin with, it was reported that a fan died just moments before the concert began. Taylor expressed her grief over the fan’s death during the concert and in a note on Instagram thereafter. To make things worse, fans did not have easy access to water during the concert.
Fan Dies Ahead of Taylor Swift’s Concert:
According to Brazillian newspaper Folha de S.Paulo, a fan named Ana Clara Benevides died ahead of the concert. She was 23. She fell ill at the concert venue and reportedly died due to cardiorespiratory arrest. Taking to her Instagram Stories, Taylor reacted to her fan’s death.
“I can’t believe I’m writing these words, but it’s with a shattered heart that I say we lost a fan earlier tonight before my show,” Swift began her statement. “I can’t even tell you how devastated I am by this. There’s very little information I have other than the fact she was so incredibly beautiful and far too young,” she added.
“I’m not going to be able to speak about this from the stage because I feel overwhelmed by grief when I even try to talk about it. I want to say now I feel this loss deeply and my heart goes out to her family and friends. This is the last thing I ever thought would happen when we decided to bring this tour to Brazil,” she concluded her note.
Taylor Swift Stops Concert To Arrange Water For Fans:
In a video from the concert going viral, Taylor was seen putting the show on hold and helping fans with water. The singer joined fans to chant ‘water’ to push the organisers arrange for water bottles faster.
In another video, she was seen performing All Too Well when she helped get a bottle of water from her team and pass it to a fan. Although Taylor is yet to comment on the water situation, a fan claimed on TikTok that the stadium did not allow fans to carry their own water bottles into the venue.

Taylor Swift Postpones Rio de Janeiro Show:
After the heartbreaking turn of events, Taylor announced she is postponing her Rio de Janeiro show. “I’m writing this from my dressing room in the stadium. The decision has been made to postpone tonight’s show due to the extreme temperatures in Rio. The safety and well being of my fans, fellow performers, and crew has to and always will come first,” she said on Instagram.
