Sunderland have reportedly launched a bid worth £8million to rope in winger Emanuele Giaccherini from Juventus.
According to The Journal, sources in Italy suggest that both Juventus and Sunderland have agreed on the 28-year-old's move to England after the Serie A team developed an interest in Paulo Di Canio's fresh deal.
It is being understood that Giaccherini is being persuaded by both clubs to end up at the Stadium of Light before the 2013-14 season commences in August.
Along with Sunderland's hope of landing in Giarccherini, there is also speculation that are keen to hold on to midfielder Jack Colback after the 23-year-old turned down a new contract from the club.
