New Delhi: Real Madrid signed Cristiano Ronaldo last month for a world-record fee of €93 million after several months of speculation concerning his future at Old Trafford.
Florentino Perez has now compared the signing of the FIFA World Player of the Year with that of Alfredo di Stefano, made in the 1950s, saying, "Thanks to the signing of Di Stefano, Real are in the place where they are now in the world.
"With the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo, we will build many schools, we will feed the world with Madridismo."
Meanwhile, Perez has sent a warning to the club's coach, Manuel Pellegrini, who admitted on Sunday that the squad would only be complete after the arrival of a full-back and two more centre midfielders.
Perez has insisted that that the club's priority should be to sign only the best in the business.
"Pellegrini wanted to say that he wants players of more quality, not more quantity," Perez told AS.
The Real Madrid president has ruled out the possibility of the club abandoning the Santiago Bernabeu and moving to a new stadium, stating, "The stadium is in the best spot in Madrid... It is like the Museo del Prado. And I am saying this as a humble gesture."
