Pirlo confirms he is leaving AC Milan
There has been constant speculation in Italy that the playmaker will sign for Juventus.

Milan: AC Milan midfielder Andrea Pirlo has announced he will leave the club following a decade of service for the Serie A champions.

The 31-year-old's deal was set to expire in June, but his early announcement clears up any final doubts over his parting with the club. There has been constant speculation in Italy that the playmaker will sign for Juventus ahead of the new campaign.

Pirlo told journalists outside the club offices on via Turati: "I am leaving after 10 unforgettable years. It's a consensual divorce, but I have not spoken with Juventus. I am here to say goodbye."

It is now expected that he will be approached by the Turin club, who are set to offer him a three-year deal, as revealed last week by Goal.com.

Meanwhile, striker Filippo Inzaghi has penned a new one-year deal with the Milanello club.

The legendary poacher will be almost 39 by the time the deal expires. A statement on the club's official website reads:

"AC Milan communicates that Filippo Inzaghi has signed an extension until June 30, 2012."

The news comes on the same day Alessandro Nesta signed new terms.
