New Delhi: World Cup winners Italy and European champions Spain will be in action in World Cup 2010 qualification matches on Wednesday night.
Italy take on Bulgaria in a Group 8 tie and though the Azzurri are on top of the group, a point ahead of Ireland with an extra match in hand, their recent form might be a source of worry for coach Marcello Lippi.
Italy have not scored a goal of their own in their last four matches and as they take on Dimitar Berbatov's Bulgaria.
Spain will face Estonia at home in Medina. The European champions go into the match with a shot at sealing a birth in the World Cup next year if fellow Group 5 members Bosnia lose to Turkey.
Vicente del Bosque's squad are riding on a 100 per cent record in the qualifiers and it does seem like just a matter of time before they book their ticket to South Africa.
Spain has no injury worries, too, with both Gerard Pique and Alvaro Arbeloa making themselves available for the match against Estonia.
In Group 7 the top two teams Serbia and France face off in Belgrade. Serbia lead the table with 18 points, four ahead of France and stand a chance of clinching the automatic birth in the World Cup next year if they win on Wednesday night.
The French though, will have to get over the little battle in their ranks and the drawn game against Romania last week, to challenge Serbia for the automatic qualification spot.
Meanwhile, Portugal travel to Budapest for their 2010 qualifier against Hungary.
The side that boasts of stars like Cristiano Ronaldo and Deco currently lies fourth in Group 1 and face a tough task ahead of them to qualify for the tournament next year.
Denmark lead the group with 17 points while Portugal have just 10.
