London: Barcelona are preparing to test Chelsea's resolve to keep hold of defender David Luiz by offering them 35 million pound according to The Sun. Luiz's future has come under speculation in recent months following the appointment of Jose Mourinho as the club's new manager.
Speculation over a possible bid for the Brazilian increased after he was left out of the club's squad for their friendly tie against Real Madrid. Barcelona are known to be in the market for a new defender as they look to bring in an eventual successor to club stalwart Carles Payol.
They have been linked with the likes of Borussia Dortmund's Mats Hummels and Manchester City's Vincent Kompany but have so far been frustrated in their attempts to bring someone.
On the other hand Mourinho has also never made it clear whether Luiz is part of his plans this summer.
