Arsenal reject United's bid for Nasri
The Premier League champions had reportedly made £20 million bid for the Gunners' playmaker.

London: Manchester United have reportedly had a £20 (€22) million bid turned down by Arsenal for playmaker Samir Nasri.

The Guardian claims that United made their initial offer a number of weeks ago and are considering whether to meet Arsenal's £25m (€28m) asking price.

United have already made progress in this summer's transfer window by signing Phil Jones, Ashley Young and David de Gea.

Nasri is entering the final year of his contract at the Emirates and many clubs around Europe are interested in the Frenchman, who enjoyed his best season in the Premier League last term, scoring 10 goals in 30 appearances.

Chelsea and Manchester City have also been linked with a move for Nasri, and Arsenal may be trying to ignite a bidding war between their title rivals.

Nasri could also move abroad with Inter said to be keen on bringing him in as uncertainty remains surrounding the future of Wesley Sneijder.

The Arsenal midfielder was beaten by only Gareth Bale in the PFA Player of the Season award last term after especially impressing in the first half of the campaign.

Since moving to the Emirates from Marseille in 2008, Nasri has made 124 appearances for Arsenal, scoring 24 goals.
