NIT Rourkela Achieves Record Placement Success With Over 1,300 Job Offers
More than 342 companies came for placements at the reputed education institute and out of these, 40% of the companies came for the first time.

The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela is a renowned educational institute where more than 1,300 students have received job offers. The class of 2024 has secured an average pay of Rs 12.89 lakh per annum (LPA), while students of the B.Tech programme bagging an average salary of Rs 14.05 lakh. As per a statement issued by the institute, a total of 1,320 students have received placement offers in the academic year of 2023-24 including six months of internship and pre-placement offers. About 53 students have secured annual packages of over Rs 30 lakh per annum.

More than 342 companies came for placements at the reputed education institute and out of these, 40 per cent of the companies came for the first time. As per Money Control, one student has secured a package of Rs 1.2 crore. The report further stated that about 50 per cent of the job offers came from the core sector. 18 per cent of the companies present for placement were from software and IT services while 11.2 per cent were from banking, financial services and insurance. It was the Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering Department that got the highest placement with an average salary offer of Rs 19.08 lakhs per annum. In Computer Science, the average salary was Rs 18.31 lakhs and in Electronics Communication Engineering was Rs 18 lakhs.

Further, the statement revealed that the institute saw 82.3 per cent placement in its flagship B.Tech programme with 100 per cent placement in Ceramic Engineering. 95 per cent placement was witnessed in the Mining Engineering department. Seven departments including computer science and engineering, electronics and instrumentation engineering, electronics & communication engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, and metallurgical and materials engineering secured about 90 per cent placement,
