The PM SHRI, or PM Schools for Rising India, is a centrally sponsored scheme initiated by the Government of India. The main objective of the scheme is to offer a diverse range of learning experiences and ensure access to good physical infrastructure and appropriate resources for all students.
In the same instance, nine schools of the district have been nominated under the ambitious scheme of the Central Government in Basti. The government intends that the schools of the district should be strengthened and of high quality under this scheme. These schools have been included in PM Shri for the year 2024–25. Earlier, 13 schools were selected under the scheme. Now, the number of schools included in this scheme has increased to 22. Primary and upper primary schools will be given two crore rupees each for rejuvenation.
In the PM Shri scheme, attention is being paid to the development of basic facilities and academic support of schools. The government has selected one school each from nine blocks. Primary, upper primary and composite schools have been included in the PM Shri scheme. Facilities like additional classrooms, science and chemistry labs, computer rooms, library rooms, lab equipment, boundary walls, art-craft rooms, solar panels, playgrounds, kitchen gardens, disabled toilets, etc. will be improved in the schools.
Basic Education Officer Anup Kumar told Local 18 that in the new financial year, a list of nine schools in the district has come for the PM SHRI scheme. These schools included in PM Shri will get Rs 2 crore each for development. Nine schools from the Basti district have been included in the PM Shri scheme.
These include Composite School Majhari of Ramnagar Block, Primary School Moodghat of Basti Sadar Block, Primary School Musha Pratham of Gaur Block, Composite School Farsahan of Dubaulia Block, Composite School Devami of Bankati Block, Composite School Jagdishpur of Parshurampur Block, Primary School Majhowa Kala II of Rudhauli Block, Composite School Puraina Khas of Harraiya Block and Composite School of Vikramjot Block.
