Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is present all over the country and provides free education to students. Admission is given in these schools in classes 6 and 9. Apart from this, the student can also take admission in class 11. The school charges no fee from the students. Only a nominal fee is charged in the name of Vidyalaya Vikas Nidhi from classes 9 to 12.

For admission to these schools, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti conducts the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST). Admission to the school is based on this entrance exam. For admission in class 6 at Navodaya Vidyalaya, the age should be between 10 and 12 years, and for admission in class 9, the age should be between 13 and 15 years.

Eklavya Model Residential School

Eklavya Model Residential Schools are run by the National Tribal Students Committee under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. Only children from the Scheduled Tribe category are admitted to Eklavya schools. Education, boarding and lodging are all free in these schools. Eklavya Model Residential Schools offer education from classes 6 to 12. Admission to these schools is through an entrance exam.

Atal Awasiya Vidyalaya

Atal Awasiya Vidyalaya is run by the Uttar Pradesh government. Under this scheme, education is provided to the children of registered labourers in the entire state. For admission to Atal Awasiya Vidyalaya, one has to pass the entrance exam while the admission is done in classes 6 to 9.
