Many times, a person gets so inspired by something that they start implementing them in their lives. One such story is of a girl named Jyoti Rao, who made headlines with her remarkable journey after clearing the IIT JEE Advanced exam. She was inspired by her sister’s description and decided to take up the challenge herself.
Her sister used to hear from her sister about the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) held across the country for engineering during her school days. Her sister had gone to Sikar from Ghardana Khurd in Rajasthan for NEET UG coaching. She used to say that her teachers often said that JEE is one of the toughest exams in India.
The prestige associated with JEE and its reputation as one of the toughest exams in the country inspired her to try it. So she gave her 100 per cent and managed to clear the IIT JEE Advanced exam in the year 2022. After this, Jyoti enrolled herself on the Physics branch in the Integrated Dual Degree Program at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras). Then she left IIT Madras and started preparing for the NDA, and after clearing it, she reached the SSB round. However, she failed in medical and got enrolled back in the first year of IIT Madras.
Like other students, she arrived at IIT Madras to pursue a career in physics. However, her fate has planned something else for her. According to a report in the Indian Express, she enrolled in the NCC as a cadet and found herself balancing life as an IITian and a cadet. As she moulded herself into this dual role, she felt a strong inclination towards a career in the defence sector.
After this, with the unwavering support of her parents and IIT Madras, she decided to leave her studies for a year in 2022 and prepare for the NDA entrance exam. Her journey was not without its challenges. She used to spend countless hours in her room or library preparing for competitive exams.
She cleared the NDA entrance exam and the tough five-day SSB interview but was disqualified in the medical round as she had vision problems. Despite this challenge, her parents and institute once again supported her. With their encouragement, she was admitted to the 2023 batch in the same department. She started her journey at IIT Madras again by enrolling in the first year of the 2023 batch.
