The Himachal Pradesh Board Of School Education, HPBOSE has announced the class 10 or matric exam results 2024 today, May 7. Students can check their scorecards on the official website at hpbose.org. A total of 74% of students have passed the exam. This is a huge decline compared to last year when 89.7% of the students cleared the exam.

A total of 91622 students had registered for the exams this time out of which 91130 appeared. 67988 students have passed the HP board 10th exam while 12613 have failed and 10474 have been paced in the compartment category. 492 students were absent from the exam. In 2023, as many as 91,440 students took the Himachal Pradesh 10th board exam of which 81,732 students had passed.
HP Board 10th Result 2024: Decline in Pass Percentage
While last year the pass percentage had almost reached 90%, this year it has gone down below 80%.
The HP Board conducted the 10th annual examinations between March 2 to 21, 2024. To pass the HP board 10th exam, students need to secure at least 33 per cent marks overall as well as in each subject. This means they have to get a grade of D at least.

This year, a total of 92 students have secured positions in the top 10 out of which 72 are female students Riddhima Sharma, a student of a government school in Nadaun, Hamirpur has secured the first position by scoring 99.86%. Krutika Sharma secured second position with 99.71%; Shivam Sharma came in third with 99.57%; Drishti Tegta secured fourth position with 99.57% and Rushil Sood at fifth with 99.57%.
Students who fail in one or two subjects in the Himachal Board 10th examination will get a chance to pass the examination again. HP Board will conduct a compartment examination for such students in July 2024. Students will have to apply for the same on the official website. The board will also release its schedule soon.
