Assam Invites Applications For Over 9,000 Teaching Posts

The candidates who are looking forward to working as TGT-PGT (Trained Graduate Teachers, Post Graduate Teachers) in high school and intermediate levels should consider this opportunity. The Directorate of Secondary Education, Assam has invited applications for more than 9,000 posts of TGT and PGT.

The process of online applications for these positions has also commenced. The candidates will file the applications by clicking on the official website madhyamik.assam.gov.in. Through this recruitment, 8,004 TGT and 1,385 PGT teachers will be appointed.

1. Last Date

The last date to apply for this recruitment drive is November 15, 2024.

2. Application Fee for TGT and PGT Recruitment

For TGT and PGT recruitment, the candidates from the general category will have to pay an application fee of Rs 500. Whereas for SC/ST/PWD (Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Persons With Disabilities) category candidates, the application fee is Rs 350.

3. Eligibility for Jobs

For the TGT teacher posts, candidates should have graduated in a relevant subject with 50 per cent marks. The candidates should also have secured a degree in B Ed (Bachelor of Education) from an institution certified by the National Council for Teacher Education. Meanwhile, for PGT, one must have pursued their B Ed along with a PG (Post Graduation) degree in the relevant subject. 4. Salary

TGT – TGT teachers will get a salary ranging from Rs 14,000/- to Rs 70,000/- and grade pay Rs 8700/- per month. Along with this, they will also be able to secure other allowances

PGT- PGT teachers will get a salary ranging from Rs 22,000/- to Rs 97,000/- and grade pay Rs 11,800/- per month.
