Defending champions Chennai Super Kings recently lost to Royal Challengers Bengaluru to bow out from IPL 2024

MS Dhoni is back in Ranchi and doing what he loves: riding a bike. A day after his IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings lost to Royal Challengers Bengaluru in a do-or-die clash at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Dhoni returned to his hometown Ranchi along with his family.

The former CSK captain looked disappointed at his team being eliminated from the IPL 2024 playoffs race despite a strong start to the season. The title holders were aiming to win a record sixth title but will now have to wait for another year to do so.

A video of Dhoni riding a bike in Ranchi has been doing the rounds on social media. The legendary India captain is known for his love of bikes boasting of quite a collection in his garage which prompted Venkatesh Prasad to quip he can convert it into a showroom of sorts.

Meanwhile, Dhoni has opened up on his surprise Test retirement towards the end of 2014, saying he was missing out on family time.

“I think when you play international cricket, especially being part of the Indian team for a very long time, what you miss a lot is the family time,” Dhoni said.

“So, till 2015 (2014), I was playing all the formats. I was barely home, you know, in between, the series will get like five days, six days off, where if you have to report to some other venue, it takes you another couple of days to go to Ranchi, then come back. And in between whatever endorsement work you have to do. So, from 2015 onwards, I realized, I want to spend a bit more time with the family. Parents are ageing, you get married but you’re not able to spend a lot of time with your wife. And at the same time, if you have a kid they’re also growing up,” he added.

What's your reaction?
