The third Test between India and England witnessed some intense mind games being played out while James Anderson aimed a cheeky jibe at Ravindra Jadeja.
The moment occurred right after Jadeja completed a magnificent century in the first inning of the game, currently being played at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot. In the fifth ball of the 82nd over, the Indian all-rounder tucked Anderson away behind the square leg for a single to complete his ton. Jadeja then raised his bat in the air while swinging it rapidly to celebrate his century.
Soon the cricketer was seen being approached by Anderson who mocked the Indian all-rounder’s celebration. The incident soon went viral on Instagram. “Anderson ridiculing Jadeja’s celebration, so yep there’s a little bit of spice in this one,” read the caption of a post shared by Fox Cricket who uploaded a video of the incident.

Ravindra Jadeja’s fourth Test century came moments after a silly run-out dismissal at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium on Thursday. In the same over a call from Jadeja had cost debutant Sarafaraz Khan his wicket. Sarfaraz performed quite well on his Test debut against the Englishmen, scoring 62 runs in 66 balls. His knock included nine boundaries and one six. Meanwhile, Jadeja remained phenomenal throughout, scoring 112 runs before losing his wicket today. The all-rounder’s knock proved to be crucial for India to reach the 400-run mark.
Ravindra Jadeja first appeared in the series in the opening Test match that took place at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. The star all-rounder was crucial for India in that game as well, scoring 82 runs across the two innings. He also impressed in the bowling unit taking five English scalps but his heroics were not enough to seal a victory for India. Rohit Sharma’s men went on to lose that match by 28 runs. Jadeja was ruled out of the second Test after sustaining a hamstring injury but made a successful recovery to find his place back in the squad for the third Test in Rajkot.
India ended their first innings having posted a solid total of 445. Team India skipper Rohit Sharma was also brilliant as he scored a hundred to earn a solid start for the hosts.
