'To Witness The Comeback First-hand...': David Warner Hails Rishabh Pant's Commitment in Heartfelt Note
David Warner has shared a heartfelt note on Instagram after the conclusion of IPL 2024, expressing his delight at seeing Rishabh Pant make a successful return to competitive cricket.

Australia batting star David Warner says it was great witnessing his Delhi Capitals’ teammate Rishabh Pant make his comeback to competitive cricket after spending a significant time recovering from  injuries he sustained from a near-fatal car accident in December 2022.

Pant sustained multiple injuries due to the mishap and missed the entire IPL 2023.

In his absence, Warner led DC.

Pant returned and had a productive season with the bat. However, DC couldn’t make it to the playoffs, finishing sixth on the points table after winning seven of the 14 league matches.

Warner bid adieu to IPL and Indian cricket fans by sharing a note on social media.

In an Instagram post, the Australian opener congratulated Kolkata Knight Riders on winning their third title.

He further thanked the DC fans for being a constant support system throughout the campaign.

“Now the IPL has finished I will post a thank you. Congrats to Kolkata Knight Riders for winning this year. Very well deserved and were very consistent. To our fans, thank you for always cheering us on and supporting us. Wasn’t our year this year but we gave it our all. Some outstanding performances from our young guys and how good was it to see,” Warner wrote.

Before signing off, Warner highlighted Pant’s dedication after the wicketkeeper-batter scored 446 runs in his 13 appearances in this IPL including three half-centuries.

“It was also great to see Rishabh Pant back playing again after his accident. To witness the comeback first-hand and how committed he was to playing was simply fantastic,” Warner wrote.

Warner was off-colour with the bat during IPL 2024 though.

Following a series of below-par performances, the Aussie was dropped from DC’s playing XI with the young Jake Frasher-McGurk taking his place.

Warner managed just 168 runs at a strike rate of 134 from eight matches this IPL.

Meanwhile, Pant has jetted off to the USA to represent the Indian cricket team at the T20 World Cup.
