Pakistan failed to produce anything positive in the last preparatory assignment ahead of the T20 World Cup. The four-match T20I series against England was affected due to bad weather. The first and fourth games were washed out owing to incessant rain. England dominated the remaining two T20Is and won the home series 2-1.
Pakistan faced a batting collapse on both occasions. In the second T20I, Babar Azam and his men failed to chase down an 184-run target, suffering a 23-run defeat. Their middle order looked quite pale in the fourth T20I where Pakistan managed to set a paltry target of 158 runs. England comfortably completed the run chase in 15.3 overs to notch a seven-wicket win.
