Amid LSG's social inactivity, pacer Naveen-ul-Haq took to his Instagram account on Friday morning and shared a picture with captain KL Rahul.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) seem to have gone into radio silence since getting thrashed by the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Wednesday. The KL Rahul-led side suffered a 10-wicket loss at the hands of the Sunrisers, suffering a huge blow to their IPL 2024 playoffs hopes. Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma chased down 166 in just 9.4 overs, in what was a stunning show of marauding stroke-play from the left-handers at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Wednesday.

The defeat left LSG owner Sanjeev Goenka extremely agitated as he was seen venting out his anger at captain Rahul, who was quietly listening and responding. The incident wasn’t welcomed by the fans on social media who slammed the LSG owner for not having the conversation behind closed doors.

Interestingly, there has been no activity on LSG’s social media handles since their last fixture against SRH. The franchise posted an emotional message for its fans after the gut-wrenching defeat in Hyderabad but now seems to have detached itself from the social world.

Amid Lucknow’s social inactivity, pacer Naveen-ul-Haq took to his Instagram account on Friday morning and shared a picture with captain KL Rahul, putting a black heart emoji in the caption. The post has garnered more than 9.5k likes within two hours but has limited the fans from commenting on it.

LSG’s net run rate took a massive hit as they slipped below Delhi Capitals in the latest standings to be placed sixth currently.

Rahul gutted, lost for words

LSG captain Rahul ran short of words while describing his team’s shocking defeat. He credited Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head for their phenomenal stroke play.

“I am at a loss for words. We have watched that kind of batting on TV. But this is unreal batting. Everything seemed to find the middle of the bat. Kudos to their skills. They have worked hard on their six-hitting skills. They didn’t give us a chance to know what the pitch played in the second innings. It was hard to stop them as they teed off from ball one,” Rahul said.

“Once you are on the losing side, there are question marks on the decisions taken. We were 40-50 runs short. When we lost wickets in the powerplay, we couldn’t get any momentum. Ayush (Badoni) and Nicky (Nicholas Pooran) batted well to get us to 166. But even if we would have got 240, they could have chased it as well,” he added.
