Mamba Mentality? It's Time to Embrace GG Mentality, Says KKR's Nitish Rana About Gautam Gambhir

Mamba Mentality? No, GG mentality it is for KKR says Nitish Rana, who was full of praise for team mentor and former KKR skipper Gautam Gambhir and credited the legend for bringing about a winning mentality to the team, which ultimately led them to the IPL 2024 title.

“In this era of Mamba Mentality, we’re soon all going to embrace the GG Mentality too. #manifestation #ggmentality,” wrote Rana in his Instagram post.

In the post, Rana shared the reply that Gambhir had sent to him, upon Rana congratulating the former Indian WC-winner after his appointment as the mentor for KKR this past season.

“Thanks Nitish for the message. This means a lot. Let’s create something special. There is no better feeling in sport than to stand on a podium and win a trophy. Let’s experience that,” read Gambhir’s reply to Rana.

Rana’s praise and appreciation for Gambhir doesn’t stop there. After KKR’s dominant and triumphant 8-wicket win over SRH in the IPL 2024 final, the KKR batter took to the mic in a post-match talk with Harsha Bhogle and recalled the elation he felt when he found out that Gambhir was returning to the Kolkata franchise.

“When GG (Gautam Gambhir) bhai was appointed as the mentor, I had messaged him and said I was very happy he was coming back to KKR,” stated an emotional Rana.

Rana also made mention of Gambhir’s reply, who stated that he would feel elation and accomplishment, only if KKR stood tall in the winners podium at the end of the season.

“But, he said that he would be happy, if we are on that podium lifting the trophy. Today is that day and I will never forget that message,” added Rana.
