Mitchell Starc breathed fire Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) bowled out Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for 159 in the Qualifier 1 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday.

Starc delivered a body blow on the second ball of the game by rattling Travis Head’s stumps before accounting for the in-form Nitish Reddy (9) and Shahbaz Ahmed (0) to leave the opponents reeling inside the powerplay.
IPL’s third-highest run-getter Head was all over the place when he went for a wild heave against the lanky Australian, who got the ball nipping slightly away after pitching and knocking down the off and middle stumps to dismiss the batter for his second consecutive duck.
Starc then bounced out Reddy with wicketkeeper Rahmanullah Gurbaz settling himself well under the ball for a simple grab.
Shahbaz was the next to depart as he chopped one onto his wickets looking to guide it down to the third man.

The 34-year-old Australian, who is the most expensive player to be sold in the IPL auction, said: “I have been fortunate enough to play on some big occasions, nice to get our team off to a good start, we know how SRH matched us in terms of attacking with the bat in the powerplay.”
Starc said getting the SRH openers out early set the tone for KKR.
“Their (Head and Abhishek) partnership has been the key for them and to get both of them out cheaply, it’s really pleasing,” Starc said.
Rahul Tripathi top-scored for SRH with 55 off 35 balls while Heinrich Klaasen smashed 32 off 21 balls. The 62-run stand between Tripathi and Klaasen was the lone positive in an otherwise underwhelming batting effort.
“The wicket’s got a bit skidier and there is some swing as well, I feel the wicket will get better with dew and the powerplay will be really key for us,” Starc said.
