New Zealand allrounder Rachin Ravindra was spotted training in the nets at the Super Kings academy. The cricket academy, established by IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings, had started with two centers in Chennai and Salem. The New Zealand team is currently in India to feature in a one-off Test match against Afghanistan. The contest is scheduled to start on September 9 at The Greater Noida Sports Complex Ground.

Ravindra was not the only Kiwi player present in the Super Kings academy. Fast bowler Ben Sears accompanied the southpaw in the training nets.
Pictures of the Kiwi duo’s training session were shared by the official X handle of the Super Kings Cricket Academy.

Ravindra made his IPL debut for CSK earlier this year. and scored 222 runs in 10 matches including a fifty. He had an impressive strike rate of 160.87.
The Chennai-based franchise had signed the 24-year-old for an amount of Rs 1.8 crore at the IPL 2024 auction held in Dubai.
The lefty shot to limelight at the ODI World Cup held in India last year.
Meanwhile, Sears has already represented New Zealand in one Test and 17 T20Is. The 26-year-old right-arm fast bowler has 19 wickets to his name in T20I cricket.
After the Afghanistan fixture, the Kiwis will be up against India in a three-match Test series slated to start from October 16.
Meanwhile, both Ravindra and Sears found themselves on New Zealand’s finalised central contract list. Allrounders Nathan Smith and Josh Clarkson secured the final two spots on the 20-player list.
