Kedar Jadhav Goes the 'MS Dhoni Way' to Announce Retirement from All Forms of Cricket
Kedar Jadhav last played in the Indian colours back in 2020 against New Zealand in Auckland and also featured in the 2019 World Cup in England.

Indian batter Kedar Jadhav on Monday announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. The 39-year-old announced MS Dhoni-style, taking to microblogging site X to confirm the development.

“Thank you all For your love and support throughout my Career from 1500 hrs Consider me as retired from all forms of cricket,” Jadhav posted at 3 PM on Monday.

Jadhav is currently captaining Kolhapur Tuskers in the Maharashtra Premier League which got underway in Pune on Sunday and his post does not specify whether the announcement covers this engagement.

After making his international debut in 2014, Jadhav represented India in 73 ODIs and 9 T20Is, accumulating 1389 and 122 runs, respectively. He last played in the Indian colours back in 2020 against New Zealand in Auckland and also featured in the 2019 World Cup in England.

Representing Maharashtra, Jadhav played 87 First-class matches and scored 6100 runs with 17 hundreds in 23 fifties. He has also played 93 IPL matches from 2010 to 2021, accumulating 1196 runs with 4 half-centuries. In his 11-year-long stint, he represented five franchises, Delhi Daredevils, Chennai Super Kings, Kochi Tuskers Kerala, Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Arguably, Jadhav’s biggest moment under the sun came during the Pune ODI against England in January 2017, when he got his second ODI ton. He smacked a brutal 76-ball 120 with 12 fours and four sixes to fire India to a three-wicket win in a high-scoring contest.

Jadhav teamed up with Virat Kohli (122) to put on 200 from a mere 147 balls for the fifth wicket after India were reduced to 63/4 at one stage, chasing 351.

Having developed his off-spin skills, Jadhav also emerged as a potent option with the ball with his slingy action that fetched him 27 ODI wickets.
