Sunrisers Hyderabad owner Kavya Maran was in a jubilant mood as the SRH batters went about mauling Royal Challengers Bengaluru bowlers in Match 39 of IPL 2024 as 2016 IPL winners rewrote history books twice in three weeks for the highest-ever team total in IPL history. SRH posted a mammoth 287/3 in 20 overs, and Maran enjoyed the power-hitting but had a few nervous moments after RCB batters got off to a flying start in the chase.
Faf Du Plessis and Virat Kohli put on to 80 runs in 6.2 overs – including setting a mini record of the highest ever Powerplay score in IPL history of 79/0. Kohli fell to impact-sub Mayank Markande after a breezy 20-ball 40, but du Plessis continued to find the middle of the bat and went on to score 62 off 28 balls. RCB lost Will Jack to an unfortunate run-out but they managed to score at a fair clip getting to the 100-run mark in the 8th over itself.

SRH skipper Pat Cummins though proved to be the game-changer with the ball as he picked up du Plessis in his second over with a slower bouncer which the RCB skipper got a faint edge to wicketkeeper Heinrich Klassen. That wicket was a huge relief for SRH and their fans including Maran, who let out a little celebratory gig at the fall of the huge wicket.

Maran was earlier snapped in a jubilant mood while celebrating Travis Head’s century. Head polished off the three-figure mark in just 39 balls – setting the fastest century of IPL 2024 and the fourth-fastest in the history of the league.
Head eventually out of to 102 off 41 balls, while his opening partner Abhishek Sharma scored 34 of 22. The middle-order behemoth Henrich Klassen clobbered 67 off 31 while Aiden Markram (32* off 17) and Abdul Samad (37* off 10) added handy cameos to SRH’s record total.
