'It's About Keeping Things Simple': Bhuvneshwar Kumar on SRH's Mantra After Thrilling 2-Run Win Over PBKS
Kumar bowled a spell of 2/15 with his first three overs, before the hard-hitters of Shashank Singh and Ashutosh Sharma came in and blitzed the veteran for 17 runs in his last over.

Form is temporary, class is permanent. Bhuvneshwar Kumar proved the same with his splendid opening spell today for SRH against Punjab Kings, who lost two early wickets to the swinging brilliance of Kumar enroute to their heartbreaking 2-run loss.

After setting a target of 183, powered by Nitish Reddy’s fiery 67-run innings along with cameos from Shahbaz Ahamad and Samad, it was now down to the SRH bowlers to get the job done.

And they sure got off to a blitzing start as skipper Pat Cummins rattled the stumps of Bairstow, before veteran pacer Bhuvenshwar Kumar came in to scalp the dangermen of Shikhar Dhawan and Prabhsimran Singh.

His scalp of Dhawan was especially the highlight as he drew the opener forward with an outswinger to beat him and allow Klassen to stump the opener with ease.

“I asked him (Klaasen) to come up, Shikhar was stepping out and I wanted to get something off the wicket. I think when I was playing for Pune Warriors (last time he had a batter stumped),” said Bhuvneshwar in a post-match interview.

“It depends on how you prepare, it is about keeping the same things and keeping it simple, everyone knows what I am going to do and I know what the batters are going to do.”

Kumar bowled a spell of 2/15 with his first three overs, before the hard-hitters of Shashank Singh and Ashutosh Sharma came in and blitzed the veteran for 17 runs in his last over.

“That is the beauty of the T20 game. The wicket changed a lot in the last 2 overs, it was nail-biting and good to get a win.”

Bhuvi also highlighted the importance of the knock that youngster Nitish Reddy played and praised the new generation of talent that seems to be on the rise in the current age of Indian cricket.

“He (Nitish Reddy) batted really well, last game also we saw how he batted and young talent is coming up in Indian cricket which is a good sign,” praised Bhuvneshwar.

Sunrisers Hyderabad survived a proper scare against the Punjab Kings, but held on for dear life, as they secured their third win of the campaign.
