Delhi Capitals registered a 20-run win over reigning champions Chennai Super Kings in Visakhapatnam on Sunday to bring up their first win of IPL 2024.
DC put up a total of 191 thanks to fifties from David Warner and Rishabh Pant and managed to defend it as they limited CSK to 171/6 in 20 overs.

CSK slid to the second spot in the rankings table as their net run rate took a hit in the defeat to DC, and now stand behind Kolkata Knight Riders, who top the table on the basis of a better NRR. Both teams have 4 points to their name, with the Chennai-based side having played one more game than their Kolkata counterparts.
DC climbed to the 7th spot on the table with their win against CSK and have an NRR of -0.016.
Rajasthan Royals stand third with 4 points from 2 games and an NRR of +0.8, while Gujarat Titans, who claimed a win over Sunrisers Hyderabad earlier in the day stand fourth with 4 points to their name too, however, they have an NRR of -0.73.
SRH stand fifth with two points and an NRR of +0.204, ahead of sixth-placed Lucknow Super Giants, also with two points but an inferior net run rate of +0.025.
Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, who have 2 points each, are placed eighth and ninth respectively with NRRs of -0.337 and -0.711.

RCB star Virat Kohli retains the top spot in the run-getters list with 181 runs in the ongoing campaign, followed by SRH’s South African batter Heinrich Klaasen, who has amassed 167 runs including his 24 run-knock against GT.
PBKS skipper Shikhar Dhawan stands third in the list with his 137 run tally, while David Warner tails the Indian closely at 130 runs thanks to his half-century against CSK.
RR’s Riyan Parag comes in fifth on the table with 127 runs in the ongoing tournament.
Purple Cap:
CSK seamer Mustafizr Rahman stands atop the purple cap rankings as he extended his wicket tally in the season to 7 with the dismissal of David Warner.
GT’s Mohit Sharma comes in second with 6 wickets to his name following his three-wicket haul against SRH earlier in the day. DC pacer Khalil Ahmed, who dismissed CSK openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Rachin Ravichandra is third on the list with 5 wickets.
KKR’s Harshit Rana’s 5 scalps this season places him fourth on the wicket-takers list, followed by CSK’s Matheesha Pathirana, who ended the day with a three-fer with the dismissals of Rishabh Pant, Mitchell Marsh and Tristan Stubbs.
