India's T20 World Cup Squad: How Many Players from Each IPL Team Made it to Final 15
A look at the players from each IPL franchises who made it to India's 15-man squad for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024.

The wait is over.

Indian men’s cricket squad for the ICC T20 World Cup scheduled to be held in June this year has been confirmed. The 15-man squad composition is on expected lines with the likes of established players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli leading a star-studded line-up.

Besides the 15 players, BCCI has also revealed four players among the traveling reserves. All 19 of them are currently busy representing different franchises in the IPL 2024.

Here we take a look at how many players from each IPL franchise made it to the world cup list:

Mumbai Indians (Four): Rohit Sharma (captain), Hardik Pandya (vice-captain), Suryakumar Yadav (batter), Jasprit Bumrah (bowler)

Rajasthan Royals (Three): Yashasvi Jaiswal (batter), Sanju Samson (wicketkeeper), Yuzvendra Chahal (bowler)

Delhi Capitals (Three): Rishabh Pant (wicketkeeper), Axar Patel (allrounder), Kuldeep Yadav (bowler)

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (2): Virat Kohli (batter), Mohammed Siraj (bowler)

Chennai Super King (Two): Shivam Dube (allrounder), Ravindra Jadeja (allrounder)

Punjab Kings (One): Arshdeep Singh (bowler)

India’s T20 WC Reserves

Gujarat Titans: Shubman Gill (batter)

Kolkata Knight Riders: Rinku Singh (batter)

Delhi Capitals: Khaleel Ahmed (bowler)

Rajasthan Royals: Avesh Khan (bowler)

India will begin their T20 World Cup campaign on June 5 when they take on Ireland in a Group A match at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. India have been pooled alongside Pakistan, Ireland, USA and Canada in Group A.

The Rohit Sharma-led side will then lock horns with arch-rivals Pakistan on June 9 at the same venue before facing hosts USA. For their fourth and final group fixtures, they will fly to Florida to take on Canada.

This will be Rohit’s second T20 World Cup as captain having led them in Australia (2022) when the team made it to the semi-final where they lost to eventual champion England.

The competition though will get underway from June 1 when USA take on Canada at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas.
