In stunning fashion, Abhishek Sharma has scored his first international runs in style with a cracking six over the backward-square leg region.

Despite not getting the start to the international career he expected, India’s opening batter, Abhishek Sharma got his first international runs in his second T20I against Zimbabwe that took place in Harare on Sunday, July 7. He finally was able to open with the ferocity that put fear in some of the best bowlers as the batter got results with his ultra-aggressive approach.

In the previous game, the young talent was unable to get off the mark and was dismissed for an unfortunate duck as the Indian team crumbled and suffered a shocking loss by 13 runs to humble the World Champions.

Abhishek who was on strike, took on the pacer, Brian Bennett who went short and the batter was able to pull it with ease for the maximum over the backward square-leg region to get his first international runs in stunning fashion.

Despite the wicket of Shubman Gill, India’s skipper falling early in the powerplay, Abhishek was still able to maintain his aggression and remain composed in his innings.

The Indian team will be looking to bounce back with a victory to level the series. The World Champions were brought back to reality despite fielding a fairly inexperienced squad. The batting failed to step up in the previous game and Abhishek will hope that he can get a big score on the board to show why he should be considered in the long-run to be India’s opening batter.

With the likes of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli calling time on their careers in the T20I format, an opportunity has been presented before the young Indian stars to showcase why they should be with the Indian team for the long-run and Abhishek Sharma’s aggressive approach with the bat is something that has the team interested.

Both teams will need to play their best brand of cricket to help them take the win. Abhishek has already had a decent start with the bat and seems to be brewing up to score a big total on the board for the Indian team.
