'I Love This Man': Anushka Sharma Asks Virat Kohli to 'Have a Glass of Sparkling Water' to Celebrate T20 World Cup Win
Virat Kohli has now won both the ODI (2011) and T20 (2024) world cups as a player.

Virat Kohli knew the 2024 T20 World Cup final was going to be his last for India and hence, for him it was now or never. Kohli did everything in his power to put India on the path towards winning the title in the summit clash against South Africa on Saturday and at the end, he wasn’t disappointed.

Kohli soon celebrated with the coveted trophy after his 76 off 59 set the base for India’s seven-run triumph at the Kensington Oval in Barbados. For his performance with the bat, he was chosen as player-of-the-final.

And his wife Anushka Sharma was elated at the triumph as she took to Instagram to reveal how her daughter Vamika was concerned if all the Indian players who were crying after the win have someone to hug.

“Our daughter’s biggest concern was if all the players had someone to hug them after she saw them cry on tv….. Yes, My darling, they were hugged by 1.5 billion people. What a phenomenal victory and what a legendary achievement!! CHAMPIONS – CONGRATULATIONS!! ” Anushka wrote.

And in another post dedicated to Kohli, she asked him to have a glass of water to celebrate the title win.

“AND ….. I love this man @virat.kohli . So grateful to call you my home – now go have a glass of sparkling water for me to celebrate this!” she wrote.

Having achieved his dream of winning the T20 World Cup, Kohli confirmed after the match that he’s retiring from the format at international level.

“This was my last T20 World Cup and this is what we wanted to achieve,” Kohli said in a chat with the broadcasters after the match. “One day you feel you can’t get a run, then things happen. God is great, and I got the job done for the team on the day it mattered. Now or never (that was my) last T20 for India, wanted to make the most of it. Wanted to respect the situation rather than force it.”

“This was an open secret, it’s time for the next generation to take over, some amazing players will take the team forward and keep the flag waving high,” he added.
