'Going to be Remembered For a Long Time': Ex-PAK Cricketers Hail Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Indian Team After T20WC Victory
Former Pakistan cricketers took to social media to congratulate Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma for their illustrious careers in the T20I format after India won the T20 World Cup 2024.

As the news of Indian stalwarts, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma retiring from the T20 format came about following their World Cup victory, several Pakistan legends took a moment to congratulate the pair on their stellar career in the shortest format.

Among Pakistan’s finest spinners during his time, Saqlain Mushtaq praised both Rohit and Kohli with two separate posts where he praised their dedication and sheer passion which inspired millions all over the world.

Arguably among the greatest cricketers Pakistan has produced, Shahid Afridi was also active on social media where he congratulated both of them for their leadership, quality cricket and more.

The out of favour opening batter, Ahmad Shahzad also lauded the pair for their dream-like exit from the format. He credited the leadership by Rohit Sharma along with the preparations done behind the scenes for their victory.

The Rawalpindi Express himself, Shoaib Akthar uploaded a video on his official X handle where he reacted to the news and suggested that Virat Kohli is the best batter in the world and hailed Rohit’s captaincy as well through the tournament.

The ex-Pakistan international cricketer, Azhar Ali also credited the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma for his captaincy and went on to say that he would be missed in the shortest format.

The former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter, Kamran Akmal reacted to India’s victory where he congratulated Hardik Pandya for his heroics and lauded Rohit’s magic as the captain of the side.

Another former Pakistan cricketer, Rashid Latif also went onto hail Jasprit Bumrah as the ‘best in the business’. He has been unplayable throughout the tournament.

While they may be our rivals on the field, it is certainly a refreshing sight to see our neighbours congratulate the Indian champions for their success.
