Heinrich Klaasen was one of those batters who helped Sunrisers Hyderabad to notch the highest team total in the Indian Premier League (IPL) history on Wednesday, March 22. The South African star played a fiery knock of 82 runs off just 34 balls as SRH posted 277 runs on the board against Mumbai Indians. Klaasen’s daughter Laya, who is just 14-month-old, was in attendance at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium to cheer for her dad. Donning an SRH kit, the toddler was seated in the stands along with her mother Sone Martins.

Heinrich Klaasen whacked as many as seven sixes during his blistering innings against Mumbai. Whenever he cleared the boundary, Laya was seen waving the orange flag just like a die-hard Hyderabad fan. Sone Martins also looked ecstatic as she was enjoying the electric atmosphere at the stadium.
A clip of Laya’s cute gesture was shared by the franchise on X (formerly Twitter) with the caption, “The best seat in the house? Right next to Dad’s biggest fan. HK’s little one was all of us today.” The post took no time to become viral, leaving viewers in awe. One of them was quick to label Laya as the “cutest fan in the house.”
One SRH fan felt the victory of Heinrich Klaasen must be a “special gift for his baby.”
Keeping aside the on-field developments, another fan named Laya “the Star of the Match.”

Heinrich Klaasen, arguably one of the best big-hitters in T20 cricket in recent times, was signed by Sunrisers Hyderabad at the 2023 IPL mini-auction. He aggregated 448 runs in 12 appearances in the debut season for the Orange franchise.
Klaasen looks more dangerous this season. He kicked off the tournament with a 63-run knock against Kolkata Knight Riders. After his blistering show against Mumbai Indians, Klaasen is now leading the Orange Cap charts with 143 runs.
Looking back at the match, several players of the visiting unit also showcased their A-game during the chase. However, they ultimately lost the high-scoring contest by 31 runs. Following the home victory, SRH are now third in the 2024 IPL points table.
