Gujarat Titans romped to a 35-run win over holders Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League.
GT put up a 232-run target for the visitors to chase as skipper Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan notched up tons, before limiting CSK to a score of 196 runs for the loss of 8 wickets with Mohit Sharma’s three-fer proving immensely valuable.
Gill returned to form with the century after a period of testing games and lauded his opening partner Sai Sudharsan, for the 210-run stand they put up for the first wicket.

He spoke about the camaraderie the duo share and the flow with which they constructed the innings on the day.
“Just the freeness of it. When we were batting out there, we didn’t have any targets in mind. We were just maximising the opportunities in front of us,” the skipper began.
“We have a good camaraderie between us. Even last year we batted a lot together and it is a lot of fun batting with him,” he said.
Gill heaped praise on veteran seamer Mohit, who has proved crucial in GT’s campaign this season.
“Mohit bhai has done this for us the last couple of years. Even last year, his bowling was a revelation. And it is so this year too,” the 24-year-old said.
Gill also added that the side were looking to post a total in excess of the 250-run mark at one point in the game in order to assist with the Net Run Rate, which could play a huge part in the playoff race going forward.
“At one point we thought 250 was there for the taking. In the last 2-3 overs they bowled well also. Just had a feeling we were 10-15 short – not in terms of the match but in terms of the NRR going forward,” he stated.
Gill also paid special credit to the Ahmedabad crowd, where he has fared incredibly well.
“When you’ve got 100k people supporting you, it becomes easier,” he concluded.
