Remember Actress Suvaluxmi? This Is What She Is Doing In US After Quitting Films
After her appearance in several Tamil and regional films, Suvaluxmi decided to quit films in 2001.

Suvaluxmi is a former actress who is predominantly known for her work in Tamil films. She was once the most sought-after actress in the regional film industry. Her successful film stint includes a series of hits alongside prominent actors like Ajith and Thalapathy Vijay. She garnered a huge number of fans through her impeccable performances in films including Aasai, Kalki, Gookulathil Seethai and Nilaave Vaa, to name a few. Besides Tamil films, the actress also appeared in Bengali, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada films.

Suvaluxmi, since her childhood, was passionate about Indian classical and folk dance forms. During one of her performances at a regional show, the renowned film director Satyajit Ray, noticed her and signed her as the female lead in the film adaptation of his story Uttoran (1994). It was completed by his son Sandip Ray as Satyajit Ray passed away amidst the shoot of the film and bagged the National Film Award for Best Screenplay in 1994.

Suvaluxmi made her debut with Tamil films with Aasai (1995). Directed by Vasanth and produced by Mani Ratnam, it was a romantic thriller and had the actress essaying the role of Yamuna. Her character won positive reviews and performed well at the box office.

After her appearance in several Tamil and regional films, she decided to quit films in 2001. The actress then appeared in Ponvannan’s critically acclaimed film Nadhi Karaiyinile (2003). Notably, Suvaluxmi was a leading actress from 1994 to 2001 and continued to receive critical acclaim for 8 years on the silver screen.

Later, she fell in love with a businessman from California. The actress decided to tie the knot and got married to him in 2007. She left the industry and turned down an offer from Mohan Raja to essay a supporting role in Santosh Subramaniam (2008). Soon after bidding adieu to the entertainment industry, Suvaluxmi practised as an artist. She pursued graduation in Master of Fine Arts in Illustration in 2013 from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Currently, she owns an official website through which she showcases her portfolio of art. In addition to that, she is also running a company with the help of her businessman husband.
