Meesai Rajendran Says, 'Leo's Collection Will Be Lesser Than Jailer'; Sparks Controversy
Thalapathy Vijay-starrer Leo, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, releases on October 19.

Rajinikanth starrer Jailer continues to dominate the box office with its massive collection and has received accolades from the critics. This film has earned over Rs 633 crore at the global box office so far and shows no signs of stopping. Rajinikanth’s fans are happy with this milestone and now actor Meesai Rajendran has made some remarks which have spared controversy.

He tweeted, “#JAILERtheRECORDMAKER ” #Leo Collection will be lesser than #Jailer, I Bet on my Mustache, Rajini sir is like elephant and others are rats in front of him.” Rajendran said this in an interview with the Tamil entertainment channel Aagayam.

These remarks have infuriated Thalapathy Vijay’s fans and one of them tweeted that Meesai Rajendran should have avoided giving such abusive comments about their favourite actor. One fan wrote that the fan clubs of Rajinikanth should avoid backing such insulting videos for his counterpart actors. According to him, Rajinikanth will be there to support Vijay during the music launch of Leo and the film’s release as well. The fan ended the tweet by writing that Vijay’s fans will always respect a veteran actor like Rajinikanth.

Neither Rajinikanth nor Vijay has reacted to this controversy.

Rajinikanth has received a mammoth success after a long time with Jailer. Kalanithi Maran, the producer of this film, is on cloud nine with this milestone and gifted Rajinikanth a brand-new BMW X7. He also handed the veteran actor a cheque for an undisclosed amount.

Jailer has become one of the highest-grossing films of 2023. A commercial action entertainer, Jailer narrates the storyline of Muthuvel Pandian (Rajinikanth), a retired jailer who lives happily with his family. The story takes a turn when his son, an Assistant Commissioner of police goes missing while investigating the case of missing temple idols. How Muthuvel Pandiandefeats Varma, the mastermind behind the idol, smuggling forms the premise of this film.

Leo, headlined by Thalapathy Vijay, will be released on the big screens on October 19. Lokesh Kanagaraj has directed the film and it stars Sanjay Dutt, Trisha Krishnan and others in the key roles.
