The rupee strengthened by 14 paise to 66.10 against the dollar in early trade on fresh selling of the US currency by exporters and banks.
Mumbai: The Reserve Bank of India on Friday fixed the reference rate of rupee at 66.4003 against the US dollar and 73.8903 for the euro as against 66.2280 and 74.3343, respectively on Thursday.
According to an RBI statement, the exchange rates for the pound and the yen against the rupee were quoted at 101.1941 and 55.57 per 100 yen, respectively, based on reference rates for the dollar and cross-currency quotes at noon.
The SDR-rupee rate will be based on this rate, the statement added.
