FIIs increases holding in 434 cos in 07
The FIIs have increased their holding to 32.17 per cent in March 2007 from 0.05 per cent in March 2006.

Mumbai: In financial year 2007, foreign institutional investors, FIIs, had increased their holding in 434 companies out of the total 2,341 listed companies whose FII holding in March 2007 was compared to the holding in March 2006.

They reduced their holding in 429 companies in FY07 over FY06.

FIIs that did not have any holding in 79 companies in FY06 but they bought shares in the same companies in FY07.

The first company in the list of companies in which FII have increased their position is Ceekay Daikin, a small sized company. The FIIs increased their holding to 32.17 per cent in March 2007 from 0.05 per cent in March 2006.

The second company in line is BF Utilities, where FIIs upped their holding from 0.02 per cent to 8.54 per cent in the above-mentioned period. In Tulip IT, FII holding was upped from 2.35 per cent to 17.72 per cent.

The other companies in this list are Ceat, NRB Bearings, Su-Raj Diamonds, Videocon,Mcleod Russel, Gitanjali Gems etc.

Amongst the companies in which FIIs have reduced their positions, Sujana Univ Ind, a small-sized company, is one of the highest losers.

FIIs have pared their position in the company from 48.3 per cent in March 2006 to 0.01 per cent in March 2007.In I-Flex Solution, the FII holding has fallen by nearly 95.29 per cent in March 2007 over March 2006.

Amongst the frontliners, VSNL has seen a fall in FII holding, from 9.66 per cent to 2.83 per cent.

GNFC has seen a fall in FII holding from 6.11 per cent to 2.74 per cent in Mrch 2007.

Few other names are KPIT Cummins Inf, Raj Rayon, IL &FS Investsmart, Gillette India, Sundaram Fasteners etc.

And amongst the companies that have made it to the FII list in March 2007 is Donear Inds where FIIs have invested in 17.39 per cent of the total shares as compared to zero per cent holding in March 2006.

Deccan Chronicle has seen FIIs investing by around 17 per cent.

Andhra Cement, Ansal Buildwell, Ashapura Minechem,Bajaj Electrical, Bartronics India, Classic Diamond are few other names in this list.
