ISRO To Organise Robotics Competition For Students; Check Date And Eligibility
The competition is known as the ISRO Robotics Challenge-URSC 2024 (IRoC-U 2024) and has a tagline that says, "Let’s build a space robot".

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has been at the forefront of space-related projects. Over the years, they have been responsible for various successful space operations that have made the country proud. Recently, ISRO took pride in the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the lunar surface and its exploration near the southern pole of the moon.

Now, it has been found that they are ready for future robotic exploration missions to the moon and other celestial bodies. They have invited young students to take part in the robotics challenge. The competition is known as the ISRO Robotics Challenge-URSC 2024 (IRoC-U 2024) and has a tagline that says, “Let’s build a space robot”.

According to reports, the space organisation has allowed young students to showcase their skills in space robotics and has asked them to design and realise a “wheeled/legged rover” encompassing the development of complete hardware and software. It has been found that the main aim of organising the competition is to provide a standardised platform that helps in exploring the area of space and robotics among the students. It is also aimed at understanding the ideas and knowledge that the student community has about space and robotics.

The robotics competition will enable the students to identify, formulate, justify and solve complex engineering problems by using principles of mathematics, science and engineering. ISRO said, “It enhances their communication, collaboration, inquiry, problem-solving and flexibility skills that will benefit them in their academic and professional lives. Another objective is also to co-develop (students and Isro) future technologies needed in the area of space robotics.”

This has come out as a huge chance for the students to work in collaboration with the Indian Space Research Organisation. Interested students can visit the official website of ISRO and apply to be a part of the competition. Official website: https://www.isro.gov.in/ISRO_Robotics_Challenge_URSC2024.html

As per reports, the application will open on November 20 and the last date to apply for the competition is December 15.
