Keerthi Krishna, niece of the noted Kannada actors Sharan and Shruthi, is set to debut in the Kannada cinema with the movie Dharani. It is directed by Sudheer Shanbhogue. The actress will be paired alongside the actor Manoj Kumar. The movie is set to revolve around the rooster fights which were popular in Karnataka in 2012.

The makers will be trying to recreate the same rooster competition atmosphere with this movie. Keerthi earlier played the role of a child artist in her aunt Shruthi’s debut movie Shri Naga Shakthi in 2011. She halted her acting career with this movie and continued her education. The actress is now ready to debut as the lead actress in Kannada cinema.

The shooting of the movie Dharani started in February and is expected to be centred around the Kolar and Mandya districts of Karnataka. Manoj Kumar, who is playing the lead role in this movie, is the nephew of the Kannada actor Darshan. Dharani is produced by Umesh Gurupura and Ganesh Aithall. It is set in a semi-urban backdrop. Manoj will be playing the role of a rugged guy who is an expert in conducting rooster fights in the area. Shashank Sheshagiri will compose the music for the movie.
