Royal Enfield loyalists in India are desperately waiting for the Scrambler motorcycle based on Royal Enfield Classic 500 to reach the market and the bike has been recently spotted at a dealership in India. The Royal Enfield Classic Scrambler is currently sold in the European marker and there are no official words from the company regarding its launch but the model at the dealership in India has given rise to speculation about its launch in India. Based on Classic 500, the Royal Enfield Scrambler gets on-off road tyres along with high-set rear mudguard and the pillion seat is replaced by a luggage carrier.

The bike is powered by same 499cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 27.5PS and churns out 41.3Nm of peak torque. The chassis and brakes are similar to the regular Royal Enfield Classic 500. The Royal Enfield Scrambler also gets taller and wider handlebar.

This year Royal Enfield already has the Interceptor and Continental GT 650 lined up for launch. The twin motorcycles are powered by the first modern Royal Enfield 650 twin engine. This new platform is a single overhead cam, 8 valve, air/oil-cooled, 648cc parallel twin, producing 47bhp and 52Nm. The engine has a strong low and mid-range performance, retaining the Royal Enfield character of accessible torque through the rev range. Also new to the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, is the six-speed gearbox, especially developed for this motorcycle.
