Citroen has partnered with BluSmart Mobility, an eMobility service provider, to boost BluSmart’s electric fleet with 4000 units of Citroen eC3 cars.
This collaboration, marked by a memorandum of understanding (MoU), signifies both companies’ dedication to advancing electric mobility in India. Initially, 125 Citroen eC3 vehicles were launched at BluSmart’s EV charging superhub in Bengaluru as part of the first phase, as reported by Motorbeam.
The Citroen eC3 boasts an ARAI claimed range of 320 km on a full charge and 100 percent DC Fast Charge capability. With a 29.2 kWh battery pack powering a front-mounted electric motor, the eC3 generates 56 BHP and 143 Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0-60 km/hr in 6.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 107 km/hr.
Shishir Mishra, Brand Director at Citroen India, expressed excitement about the partnership, praising the eC3 as a practical and eco-friendly transportation option. He highlighted the importance of initiatives like BluSmart’s shared electric mobility service in promoting sustainable urban transportation.
BluSmart’s Co-founder and CEO, Anmol Jaggi, echoed Mishra’s sentiments, stressing the alignment of Citroen’s vision with BluSmart’s mission for net-zero mobility. Jaggi emphasized the need for a comprehensive EV ecosystem in India, catering to the rising demand for electric ride-hailing services while offering riders a variety of advanced EV options.
The partnership also introduces Assure by BluSmart, a financing opportunity for retail and institutional investors to support the transition to electric mobility. Through Assure, investors can finance EV purchases and lease them to BluSmart, contributing to the expansion of the electric fleet.
BluSmart’s commitment to sustainability is further illustrated by its integrated energy-infrastructure-mobility business model, boasting a substantial fleet of EVs and an extensive network of EV charging superhubs, including the MG ZS EV and Tata Tigor EV in their current fleet.
