Automobile lovers got much more than their tickets’ worth at the 14th Auto Expo 2018, and Okinawa Autotech Pvt Ltd made the most of its participation by showcasing its latest offerings on the grand stage. At Auto Expo, Okinawa grabbed the attention of the huge number of attendees to the event by introducing its prototype e-motorcycle OKI 100 and the latest, lithium-ion battery version of Okinawa’s successful flagship e-scooter RIDGE. Attendees were unanimous in their praise for the technical brilliance and aesthetical qualities on display.
Okinawa’s prototype motorcycle, named OKI 100, features a Lithium-Ion 72V 63Ah battery with the maximum speed of 100 km/h. The major USP of this motorcycle is, it has a central motor – Belt drove with the motor power of 2500 W. The latter is the vehicle’s most significant and path-breaking feature which invalidates all the previous myths of e-vehicles not being able to match the power generated by conventional-fuel run automobiles.
Furthermore, it is also capable of running a distance of 150 km on a single charge of 2 hours, which proved to be one of the most-admired features for Indian commuters who rate vehicles with greater mileage highly. With a combination of explosive power and an ability to travel long distances without the need of constant charging, Okinawa’s OKI 100 was a huge hit with the attendees and auto pundits at the event.
The latest version of RIDGE, featuring a detachable lithium-ion battery, is an immense improvement upon an already popular e-scooter. The change in battery technology has had an enormous influence in boosting RIDGE’s all-around abilities. It now runs at a top speed of 55 km/hr with a motor power of 800W. Additionally, Okinawa’s products have been known to provide impeccable safety and security standards, and its vehicles are International Center for Automotive Technology (ICAT) approved e-automobiles for Indian roads.
With the launch of this prototype, Okinawa wants to take a step further and welcome commuters to a new age of transportation where e-vehicles will not be an anomaly but the norm, empowering the nation with their ability for quick, hassle-free and cost-effective commuting solutions that leave zero carbon footprint while zipping through Indian roads.
