Video Shows Chaotic Scene At Bengaluru Airport After Flight Faces 5 Delays
An IndiGo passenger shared ‘late-night scenes’ from Bengaluru Airport after the flight was delayed five times.

The massive fog over North India has resulted in flight delays across the country. The weather-related delays were exacerbated by a lack of clear communication by airlines which added to the inconvenience of the passengers. For the past few days, passengers have been taking to social media to show chaotic scenes emerging from the airports showing overcrowding and long lines of confused passengers and unhelpful staff. IndiGo Airlines, the largest airline in India by passengers carried and fleet size, received the most backlash for mismanagement with passengers claiming that they were getting no clear details about delays, re-routes, and refunds.

Recently, an X user shared a video that showed a crowd of people hovering over the IndiGo information desk. The airline staff tried its best to placate the passengers. The X user described this scene as, “Yesterday late night scenes from Bengaluru Airport while flying to Pune…5 times flight got delayed every 30mins they informed and the last stupid reason they gave was they don’t have crew members for the flight Indigo at it’s worst…@IndiGo6E #Indigoairlines.”

This clip has seven lakh views and thousands of likes. Commenting on it, an X user wrote, “If a flight is delayed for more than 2 hours, passengers can get full refund. That’s why they never give correct information in the first go & keep you hanging. Wish there was a collective body of air travellers that could sue them for misinformation, half truths & plain lies.”

As per IndiGo’s website, “In case of delays of more than 2 hours or Preponement of the flight by more than 1 hour, customers are entitled to a full refund or re-booking onto an alternative IndiGo flight at no additional cost subject to availability.”

Another person observed, “A common thread emerging from most delay cases is IndiGo airlines has more flights than it has crew to fly these aircrafts. How have authorities not noticed this? @DGCAIndia @JM_Scindia pls do something as lakhs of passengers are getting affected, many senior citizens among them.”

Despite criticising the airlines for mismanagement, a few people also asked passengers to refrain from being aggressive with airline staff. Making this point, an X user wrote, “There are horrendous delays and cancellations in the US too leaving passengers in misery. I am no fan of indigo. But no one surrounds and harasses the poor gate agent this way. I am sure these very same people will behave differently in an Arab or Western country else they will be handcuffed and removed.”
