Chandigarh Education Department Invites Applications for 396 Junior Basic Teacher Posts

In an attempt to fill up vacant teaching posts in schools, Chandigarh Education Department has invited applications for Junior Basic Teachers (JBTs) i.e. primary teacher positions. Eligible candidates can apply online through the official website of Chandigarh Education Department at chdeducation.gov.in. This recruitment drive aims to fill up 396 posts – General 179, OBC 94, EWS 39 and SC 84.

Chandigarh JBT recruitment 2024:Important Dates

The registration process begins on January 24, 2024 and will end on February 19, 2024. The last date for deposit of fees is till February 22, 2024.

Chandigarh JBT recruitment 2024: Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates must be Graduates or its equivalent from a recognised University and Diploma in Elementary Education of not less than 2 years duration recognised by NCTE. Candidates must pass CTET conducted in accordance with the guidelines framed by NCTE.

The age limit should be between 21 to 37 years of age as on 1.1.2024. Relaxation of age will be given to reserved category candidates.

Chandigarh JBT Recruitment 2024: Selection Process:

The merit list for selection will be prepared on the basis of total marks obtained in objective-type tests. One objective type test of 150 marks will be conducted. Qualifying marks for the test will be 40 per cent for all candidates. No interview will be conducted.

The selected candidates will be placed in the pay matrix of Rs 9300-34800 + Grade Pay of Rs 4200, as notified by the Chandigarh Administration, as per Dainik Jagran report.
