BJP hardliners grab limelight in the name of Ram
The controversy has given the BJP a chance to bring back its Ram agenda.

Bhopal: As hardliners form a queue at the BJP national executive in Bhopal, faces that had receded to the background are again in the spotlight.

Murli Manohar Joshi, long overshadowed by L K Advani, occupied center-stage when he moved the Ram Setu resolution.

No, the BJP was not going to be directly involved in the campaign. They will extend all support to the Rameshwaram Ram Setu Raksha Manch.

“The manner in which the Government has dealt with the issue of Ram Setu is shameful,” said Joshi.

Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister, Kalyan Singh, had again found his voice after his party was massacred by the BSP in Uttar Pradesh.

"He who has insulted Ram has insulted the nation," said Kalyan Singh.

And, of course, there was Advani himself, enjoying his restoration in the party hierarchy with a cleverly-manipulated Ram Setu campaign, the Jinnah stain finally being erased.

"The most important issue till now has been to make the Ram Mandir on the Ayodhya land," said Advani.

First it was Ram Mandir and now it is Ram Setu. The BJP is bent upon using Ram to the hilt for political gains.

But within the party there seems to be jostling over the issue of who will spearhead the campaign in the name of Ram.

What's your reaction?
