Windows Users Are FINALLY Getting This Feature After Waiting For Years: All Details
Microsoft has baked in a lot of features into Windows 11 but one of the most important tool is finally coming to users.

Windows users have a lot of features that keeps them hooked to the platform and not tempting them to switch to a Mac. But there is one feature that is important but has been missing for years. Not anymore, as Windows 11 PCs get the feature which lets you see the word count when you write something on Notepad.

You might feel this isn’t a very big addition but when you consider that Windows users never had the option to check the word count for all these years, this is a big update indeed.

Technically, the update hasn’t been made public yet, and those with the access to the latest Canary channel test version can see this feature in Notepad. Word count has been available on Word for years and even Google Docs has a shortcut to show you the number of words written in a document. But Notepad has missed out on this tool which is finally getting fixed with the latest Windows 11 update.

The feature works like any other word count option on other apps. You can select a particular part of the piece and see the word count at the bottom in the status bar of Notepad. Similarly, if you don’t select any word/para or sentence then Notepad will give you the word count of the full piece.

While features like these will get Windows 11 users excited, it goes without saying that everyone is eager to see how Microsoft introduces AI into the Windows ecosystem in 2024.

Reports claim the Windows 12 version will pack a lot of AI features, most likely using its expertise from ChatGPT. Microsoft has a strong partnership with OpenAI and its investment in the AI giant has clearly helped the company to grow and move faster than other tech brands like Google and Amazon among others.

What's your reaction?
