Kia Seltos Gets A Price Cut After Feature Adjustment, Details Inside
The reduction in price is attributed to the removal of a key feature from specific Seltos variants.

Kia Motors has decided to slash the prices of select variants of its popular SUV, the Seltos, by Rs 2,000 in India.

The South Korean automaker’s decision comes on the heels of a recent price hike that saw the Seltos’ cost rise by up to Rs 30,000 just a month ago.

The reduction in price is attributed to the removal of a key feature from specific Seltos variants. Kia Motors has made this adjustment to maintain competitiveness in the market and cater to the evolving preferences of its customers.

The affected variants include the 1.5 turbo-petrol iMT HTX+, 1.5 petrol MT HTX, 1.5 turbo-petrol DCT GTX+(S), 1.5-litre diesel iMT HTX+, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol DCT GTX+, and the 1.5-litre diesel AT GTX+(S). All these variants will now be available at a reduced price of Rs 2,000.

The key feature that has been removed is the one-touch rolling down of windows, which will now be limited to the driver’s side for these variants. However, the X-Line trim will continue to offer the one-touch feature on all windows.

With this adjustment, the HTX variants will now have a starting price of Rs 15.18 lakh (ex-showroom), while the new starting price for the GTX Plus variants is Rs 19.38 lakh (ex-showroom).

Kia Seltos Powertrain and Feature Updates

The Kia Seltos, a formidable rival to Hyundai’s Creta, boasts three engine options, including the 1.5-litre turbo petrol unit introduced in the 2023 version. This engine delivers 158 bhp of maximum power and 253 Nm of peak torque. The other two engines, both 1.5-litres, include a naturally aspirated petrol unit and a diesel unit, each generating 115 bhp of maximum power and peak torque outputs of 44 Nm and 250 Nm, respectively.

The 2023 Seltos comes with feature updates, including new LED headlamps, LED DRLs, a revised bumper design, and the distinctive Tiger Nose front grille. It rides on new alloy wheels, showcasing an overall refreshed exterior design with body cladding, raised window lines, roof rails, and an integrated spoiler at the rear.

Inside, the Seltos facelift features twin 10.25-inch screens for instrumentation and infotainment, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Kia Connect telematics, and a Bose premium 8-speaker sound system.

Safety has been enhanced with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), offering features such as adaptive cruise control, active lane assistance, blind-spot monitoring, drowsiness alert, auto emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alert, and more. Additional safety features include six airbags, wireless charging, a 360-degree camera, front parking sensors, ABS, EBD, and ESC as standard.
