Cancer Survivor Chhavi Mittal REACTS To Poonam Pandey's Fake Death Stunt: 'It Is Not a Joke' | Exclusive
Chhavi Mittal has been open about her battle with cancer. She was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer.

Chhavi Mittal has expressed disappointment with Poonam Pandey for faking her death. Pandey announced her death via her social media on Friday but shocked everyone on Saturday afternoon when she announced, “I am alive". Though the Lock Upp game star claimed that she faked her death to create awareness regarding cervical cancer, Chhavi Mitta has called the stunt “very insensitive".

Chhavi Mittal, who is also a cancer survivor, spoke to News18 Showsha exclusively and said, “I think it was in bad taste for me, being a cancer survivor. I think it is not a joke to lose your life to a disease like that. A lot of people are trying their best to create awareness regarding cervical cancer, and so am I. I have done my bit and will continue to do my bit regarding cervical cancer. I think it could have been done a little more aesthetically."

The Tumhari Disha actress called Poonam Pandey’s PR stunt “highly insensitive" and argued that it is disrespectful towards those who are fighting the disease. “It was highly insensitive. Being a cancer survivor and also working with people who are struggling with different cancers, and people who have lost their loved ones to this disease, I know how it feels. To be honest, when I heard the news yesterday, I felt really bad. I thought why would she not talk about it, get support? My heart really went out to her thinking she must have struggled at such a young age. I think it was very insensitive towards people who are actually struggling with it," she added.

Chhavi Mittal is known for shows like Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyann, Bandini, and Viraasat. She has been open about her battle with cancer. In April 2022, the actress revealed that she was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer. She underwent a six-hour-long surgery and was later declared cancer-free.
