Tottenham On Alert After Antonio Nusa's Potential Transfer To Brentford Stalled
After Brentford's negotiations with Club Brugge for the winger suffered a jolt, reports claim that the London side are prepared to shell out in excess of £26 million to rope in the Norwegian.

Despite agreeing to sign winger Antonio Nusa from Club Brugge, Brentford’s potential deal for the teenager has now reportedly been stalled. Brentford had agreed to a £25 million deal in principle with Club Brugge to acquire the services of Nusa and the Premier League side were ready to allow the youngster to spend the remainder of the season at the Belgian side on loan.

According to a Sky Sports report, Nusa’s possible move to England has now been thwarted after Brentford spotted potential issues in the 18-year-old’s medical yesterday. Daily Mail has now claimed that another English club Tottenham Hotspur have been alerted about Nusa’s potential transfer move after Brentford’s negotiations with Club Brugge for the winger suffered a jolt.

The Daily Mail report stated that Tottenham were previously very close to roping in Nusa. The article further claimed that Nusa felt his move to first-team football would potentially be less restrictive at Brentford.

An Express article claimed that Tottenham had reportedly been ready to shell out more than £26 million for Nusa and the London side may have viewed him as a long-term replacement for club captain Son Heung-min. Premier League giants, Chelsea were also reportedly interested in landing Nusa.

“I try not to think about it so much. I can’t focus on that, you know. I don’t think it’s good for me. We are talking about very big clubs and that’s where you dream of being in the future. I try not to think about money at all. There’s a lot of money in football, so that’s not what’s on my mind. It’s where I can develop best and become as good as possible,” Nusa had said earlier this season while talking about his future, as per Express.

The ongoing season has been quite fruitful for Nusa as he has so far registered four goals and three assists in 28 matches for Club Brugge. Overall, Nusa has made 64 appearances for the Belgian side since joining from Norwegian outfit Stabaek in the summer of 2021. In international football, Nusa has represented Norway four times and has found the back of the net once till now.
