Atlee Plans To Watch SRK's Dunki On 'Biggest Screen', Says 'Hirani Sir Had Visited...' | Exclusive
As Shah Rukh Khan gears up for his next release Dunki, which is scheduled to hit theatres in Christmas this year, Jawan director Atlee shares his excitement with us.

Director Atlee is on cloud nine with the huge success of his latest release Jawan. Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara among others, the film is shattering records and is all set to emerge as one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time as it has already earned around Rs 490 crore net in India within 12 days of its release.

As Shah Rukh Khan gears up for his next release Dunki, which is scheduled to hit the screens in Christmas this year, Atlee, in his exclusive interview with News18 Showsha, revealed that he is eagerly waiting for the Rajkumar Hirani directorial. “I haven’t seen any rushes of Dunki but I am super excited for the film. I am planning to watch it on the biggest screen when it releases with the audience. Rajkumar sir had visited us on the sets of Jawan and he had seen the first reel of my film during the mixing. I love Rajkumar Hirani sir and I am eagerly waiting for Dunki."

The Bigil filmmaker adds that his association with the PK director goes way back, “I have learned writing from him. Nanban was the Tamil remake of 3 Idiots which was directed by Shankar sir and I was his writing assistant then. So I am aware of the nuances of the writing of Rajkumar sir and have taken inspiration from him. I respect him as a man of writing."

Shah Rukh, who began the year on a high note with Pathaan, has once again entertained his audience by giving another blockbuster in Jawan. To commemorate the success, the film’s team organised a get together with the fans and media recently.

During the press meet, SRK opened up about his upcoming film Dunki. He said, “We started with January 26 (Pathaan), it was a good auspicious day. Then Janmashtami, on the occasion of Krishnaji’s birthday we released this film (Jawan). Now there is the New Year, Christmas. We will bring Dunki at that time. I think of national integration. Jis din meri film release hoti hai, uss din Eid hota hai. (And whenever my film is released, it’s Eid anyway). I’m working harder than I worked in the last 29 years. I will keep working hard because now I’m the happiest when people get happy after watching the film."
